Not All Destination Weddings Need Advance Notice

Although many articles relating to destination weddings advise planning for this event well in advance, to allow time for guests to organise their vacations or finances, there are occasions or circumstances when this need not be necessary.

If your guest list is relatively small, consisting of only a few close family and friends, or if you are not intending to invite guests at all, a destination wedding can be arranged very quickly and without any of the usual stress factors involved in organising this very important event in your life.

Apart from being able to celebrate your wedding in paradise, exchanging your vows on a tropical beach or in a garden surrounded by exotic plants and flowers with coco palms and the Caribbean sea as a backdrop, all the organisation can be left to an on-site wedding planner leaving you and your future husband free to enjoy a relaxing, romantic, vacation, wedding and honeymoon all at the same time.

Simple destination weddings can be organised at very short notice at most resort destinations providing the dates you have chosen are not already fully booked. This is because the locally based wedding planner will have a ready and regular source of wedding service providers on hand, photographers, video cameramen, officiate of ceremonies, florists, etc. and will only need to contact those you wish to contract for your wedding ceremony. Most wedding planners will also have more than one provider for each service so if the first choice should already be booked an alternative will almost certainly be available.

If you intend to marry legally at your destination wedding location your local planner should be able to make all the arrangements and provide you with all the information you need to comply with local legal requirements. This will almost certainly involve providing copies of birth certificates, divorce documents, if you have been married before etc., and may involve having these translated if your wedding location’s official language is different to that on the required documents. This may also require your arrival at the resort a few days prior to the ceremony taking place so make sure you check any residency requirements before booking.

The Dominican Republic is an ideal location for a destination weddings as ceremonies conducted in this country are accepted worldwide and the legal requirements are very simple to comply with. There are a wide range of options available for destination weddings including private villas, specialising in offering couples a complete wedding package, with all the facilities of a 5* hotel but with the wedding party as the only guests. Here you can enjoy a celebrity style wedding in complete privacy with a dedicated staff to look after all your needs and a personal wedding planner to arrange your wedding ceremony just as you want it to be.
